目前国内总质量30t、功率224kW(300ps)以下自卸车、箱式车、罐式车、半挂牵引车等运输类专用汽车底盘基本可以满足市场供应，但是，一些技术含量较高、结构要求较复杂、批量较小的作业类专用汽车底盘如八米三以上的混凝土搅拌运输车、大型混凝土泵车、224kW以上的半挂牵引车、40t以上的起重汽车、大型消防车等底盘具有少量供应且品质不高。像飞机牵引车、罐式车等要求特殊的一些专用汽车底盘，目前基本是空白，主要依靠进口。

3、关键部件无法自主生产

到现在为止，国产罐式专用汽车底盘还十分匮乏。我国生产的专用车，仍大多是采用东风、解放、斯太尔、依维柯等普通载货(客)车底盘，经过调整轴距等小幅度的改动进行改装的，根本谈不上特种车专用底盘的技术储备;生产出的大部分罐车车仍基本是技术含量低、售价低的劳动密集型的普通罐车，如低吨位加油车、半挂牵引罐车、运输罐车等。即使目前国内厂家生产的比较**的斯太尔系列汽车底盘，其技术在国际上已经显得很落后，在国际竞争中处于非常被动的地位。
